Hunter.io pricing starts with a $0 Free plan (50 credits a month), then $49, $149 and $299 a month for Starter, Growth and Scale on monthly billing. Yearly billing lowers those to $34, $104 and $209 a month, and Enterprise is custom. Hunter includes unlimited users on all plans, and everyone shares one credit pool, so the bill follows your email volume, not your headcount.
Evidence basis: official pricing pages and documentation, checked October 2026.
The real decision is the credit math. A found email costs 1 credit, a verification costs 0.5, and monthly credits do not roll over. Below you will find every plan with its limits, what a credit buys and the add-ons that raise the bill. You will also see what a solo user, a mid-size team and a large team would pay, and how Hunter compares with Snov.io, Voila Norbert, UpLead and Apollo.io.

Hunter.io Pricing at a Glance
Hunter publishes four self-serve tiers plus a custom Enterprise plan. Yearly prices below are the per-month rate, with the yearly invoice next to it.
| Plan | Billed monthly (per month) | Billed yearly (per month) | Billed yearly (per year) | Credits | Connected email accounts |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | $0 | 50 per month | 1 |
| Starter | $49 | $34 | $408 | 2,000 per month or 24,000 per year | 3 |
| Growth | $149 | $104 | $1,248 | 10,000 per month or 120,000 per year | 10 |
| Scale | $299 | $209 | $2,508 | 25,000 per month or 300,000 per year | 20 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom number of credits | Custom |

The step that matters most is Starter to Growth: $149 against $49 a month on monthly billing, for 10,000 credits instead of 2,000. A team that keeps running out on Starter gets five times the credits for a little over three times the price.

What Counts as a Credit in the Email Finder, Verifier and API
Hunter’s pricing FAQ defines a credit by the action, not by the search:
- 1 credit = 1 email found via Domain Search, Email Finder or Bulk Email Finder.
- 1 credit = up to 10 emails found via Bulk Domain Search.
- 0.5 credit = 1 email verified via Email Verifier or Bulk Email Verifier.
Several rules lower the real cost. If Domain Search or Email Finder finds no email, no credit is used. A failed verification returns the status Unknown and costs nothing, and Hunter skips disposable addresses without counting a credit.
Repeats are cheap too: the same search or verification is counted once per billing period. Credits are counted the same way in the web app, the API, the browser extension and the Google Sheets add-on. A developer testing the API draws from the same pool as your sales reps.
In practice, Starter’s 2,000 monthly credits can cover 2,000 found emails, 4,000 verifications, or a mix such as 1,000 finds plus 2,000 verifications (1,000 x 1 + 2,000 x 0.5 = 2,000 credits). Bulk Domain Search is the cheapest way to pull many contacts at one company, because up to 10 emails cost 1 credit.
What Each Plan Adds Beyond Credits
Credits are the headline, but the comparison table on the pricing page also gates search filters, AI usage, saved leads and sequence size.
| Plan | Discover filters | AI Assistant searches per month | Saved leads | Recipients per sequence | Support |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Basic | 10 | 100,000 | 500 | Regular |
| Starter | Advanced | 50 | 2,000,000 | 2,500 | Priority |
| Growth | Advanced | 150 | 10,000,000 | 5,000 | Priority |
| Scale | Advanced | 300 | 30,000,000 | 15,000 | Priority + Account manager |
| Enterprise | Advanced | 300 | Custom | Custom | Priority + Account manager |
Sources: Hunter pricing page, checked October 2026.
Starter’s plan card adds auto-verification, lead enrichment, advanced Discover filters, new lead suggestions every week and the AI Writing Assistant. None of those appear on the Free card. Proactive lead suggestions also scale, from 15 a month on Free to 150 on Starter, 450 on Growth and 900 on Scale and Enterprise.
Growth and Scale carry the same feature list as Starter. They differ in credits, connected email accounts, recipients per sequence and saved leads, and Scale adds an account manager. For most buyers, the plan is picked by credits and inboxes, not features. A team sending from four inboxes outgrows Starter’s three connected accounts before it uses up 2,000 credits.
Add-ons and Extra Costs
The Starter, Growth, Scale and Enterprise cards list four add-ons: Inbox Protection, Managed email accounts, Email account slots and Credit Packs. The comparison table marks them as add-ons for those plans, not for Free, and prints these starting prices:
- Additional email accounts: from $10 a month per email account.
- Custom domains and email accounts bought through Hunter: from $6.00 a month per email account.
- Inbox Protection: two starting prices appear, $7.50 and $6.00 a month per email account.
- Credit Packs: listed as an add-on, with no price printed on the plan cards.
Hunter’s homepage describes Inbox Protection as a way to warm and protect your inbox, and Managed email accounts as buying and creating cold-outreach inboxes inside Hunter. Both matter only if you send sequences from Hunter.
Extra inboxes add up quickly. Each extra sending account costs at least $10 x 12 months = $120 a year, so three of them nearly match the $408 yearly Starter price itself. I would budget inboxes before credits for any team that plans to run outreach from Hunter.
Hunter API Pricing: The Data Platform Option
Hunter also sells a Data Platform, described on the pricing page as API-only access to Hunter data. Instead of a subscription, you buy search credits and verification credits separately and pay for the credits you plan to spend. The page’s calculator showed these totals:
| Purchase | Search credits | Verification credits | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 search + 1,000 verification | $50.00 | $11.00 | $61.00 |
| 10,000 search + 10,000 verification | $209.00 | $110.00 | $319.00 |
Sources: Hunter pricing page, Data Platform tab, checked October 2026.
Data Platform credits can be used up to 12 months from purchase, and each repeated search or verification is counted once per calendar month. Subscription credits also work through the API, per the pricing FAQ, so the Data Platform is not the only route to the API.
The trade-off is volume against timing. $50.00 buys 1,000 search credits on the Data Platform, while Starter’s $49 a month includes 2,000 credits you can spend on finding or verifying. 10,000 Data Platform search credits cost $209.00, more than one month of Growth at $149 with 10,000 credits. Choose the Data Platform if your usage is irregular and you need credits to last up to a year. Choose a subscription if you will spend the credits within the month.
What Hunter Costs at 1, 10 and 25 Users
Hunter says you can invite as many team members as you like at no extra cost, and everyone shares the plan’s credits. Headcount changes the credits per person, not the invoice.

Hunter’s pricing page on a phone screen, first screen only, captured October 2026.
| Team size | Plan I would start with | Cost billed yearly | Credits per person per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 user | Starter | $34 x 12 months = $408 | 2,000 |
| 10 users | Growth | $104 x 12 months = $1,248 | 1,000 (10,000 / 10) |
| 25 users | Scale | $209 x 12 months = $2,508 | 1,000 (25,000 / 25) |
Sources: Hunter pricing page, checked October 2026.
The seat-free model is where Hunter separates from per-seat tools. Apollo.io lists Basic at $49 per seat per month, billed annually, so 10 seats cost $49 x 10 seats x 12 months = $5,880 a year, against $1,248 for Hunter Growth. Apollo’s plans also list sequences and a US dialer, so treat this as a cost-structure comparison, not a like-for-like one.
The first limit a 25-person team hits is inboxes, not credits. Scale includes 20 connected email accounts. If all 25 people send sequences, five extra slots cost at least $10 x 5 accounts x 12 months = $600 a year on top of the $2,508 plan.
Monthly vs Annual Billing
Yearly billing lowers every paid plan:
- Starter: $49 x 12 months = $588 billed monthly, against $408 billed yearly, a saving of $588 – $408 = $180.
- Growth: $149 x 12 months = $1,788 billed monthly, against $1,248 billed yearly, a saving of $1,788 – $1,248 = $540.
- Scale: $299 x 12 months = $3,588 billed monthly, against $2,508 billed yearly, a saving of $3,588 – $2,508 = $1,080.

Credits behave differently too. On monthly billing, credits reset each month and do not roll over. On yearly billing, all credits are available upfront for the whole year, so a Starter account gets its 24,000 credits at once and can spend them in a busy quarter.
| Plan | 8 months billed monthly | 9 months billed monthly | One year billed yearly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 8 x $49 = $392 | 9 x $49 = $441 | $408 |
| Growth | 8 x $149 = $1,192 | 9 x $149 = $1,341 | $1,248 |
| Scale | 8 x $299 = $2,392 | 9 x $299 = $2,691 | $2,508 |
Sources: Hunter pricing page, checked October 2026.
On all three paid plans, yearly billing costs less once you keep the plan for nine months or longer. Monthly billing fits a project with an end date. Hunter’s FAQ says you can take a subscription for one month and cancel when the work is done, and a canceled plan keeps premium access until the end of the subscription cycle.
Free Plan Limits, Trial and Discounts
Hunter’s Free plan costs $0 and includes 50 credits per month, basic Discover filters and the AI Assistant in Discover with 10 searches a month. It connects 1 email account, allows 500 recipients per sequence, stores 100,000 saved leads and comes with regular support. The homepage advertises “50 free leads/month” with no credit card.

Hunter’s homepage as shown on hunter.io, captured October 2026.
Fifty credits means 50 found emails or 100 verifications a month, shared by everyone you invite. That is enough to check data quality on a handful of target accounts. It is not enough to build a prospect list, and lead enrichment, weekly lead suggestions and the AI Writing Assistant start on Starter.
The pricing page does not list a time-limited trial of the paid plans; the Free plan is the way to test Hunter. A one-month Starter subscription at $49, canceled afterwards, is the cheapest way to test paid features at volume.
Two discounts are published. Yearly billing is covered above. Hunter also offers a 30% discount on monthly plans to registered non-profits with 501(c) status in the US. You apply after signing up by emailing Hunter proof of status, and the discount cannot be combined with other promotions.
Limits and Hidden Costs That Bite First
- Shared credit pool. All members share the plan’s monthly quota. On Growth, an even split gives 10 reps 1,000 credits each, but one rep running a large bulk verification can use most of the month’s pool.
- No rollover on monthly billing. Unused monthly credits are lost at reset, so a team with uneven months pays for credits it never uses.
- Connected email accounts. The caps are 1, 3, 10 and 20 from Free to Scale; each extra account starts at $10 a month.
- Recipients per sequence. The caps are 500, 2,500, 5,000 and 15,000 from Free to Scale, which limits campaign size before credits run out.
- Unpriced credit packs. Extra credits are an add-on without a printed price, so pick a plan with headroom rather than counting on top-ups.
Your CRM is a separate bill. Hunter’s homepage says it syncs data to HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce or Pipedrive and connects to Zapier. If you are still choosing where those leads will live, our guide to HubSpot CRM alternatives compares pricing and migration effort.
What Is Hunter.io? Key Features Behind the Price
Hunter’s homepage presents it as an all-in-one email outreach platform for finding verified decision makers. The price buys access to these tools:
- Domain Search: find the best person to contact from a company name or website.
- Email Finder: type a name and find an email address.
- Email Verifier: verify a list before you launch a campaign.
- Discover: build target lists from Hunter’s B2B database using buying signals.
- Lead Enrichment: fill missing company data on your contacts (Starter and above, per the plan cards).
- Sequences: automated outreach emails sent from your own inbox.
- Integrations: a Chrome extension, a Google Sheets add-on, CRM sync, an API and a remote MCP server for AI apps.

Hunter’s homepage product demo, as shown on hunter.io, captured October 2026.
The first three tools spend credits; Sequences is limited by connected email accounts and recipients per sequence instead. For a closer look at data quality and day-to-day workflow, read our Hunter review.
Which Hunter Plan Fits Which Buyer
Free: testing data quality
- Best for:
- founders and marketers who need a few dozen emails a month or want to check Hunter’s results on known accounts.
- Skip it if:
- you need lead enrichment or more than one sending inbox.
Starter: solo sellers and small agencies
- Best for:
- one or two people finding up to 2,000 emails a month and sending from up to three inboxes.
- Skip it if:
- you regularly need more than 2,000 credits, since Growth gives five times the credits for $149 a month billed monthly.
Growth: sales teams sharing one credit pool
- Best for:
- teams sharing 10,000 credits a month across up to 10 connected inboxes, at $104 a month billed yearly.
- Skip it if:
- your volume is irregular; the Data Platform’s 12-month credits may waste less.
Scale: high-volume outbound teams
- Best for:
- teams using 25,000 credits a month and sending from up to 20 inboxes, with an account manager included.
- Skip it if:
- you use fewer than 10,000 credits a month and send from 10 inboxes or fewer, which Growth covers for $149 a month billed monthly.
Enterprise: custom volume
- Best for:
- teams that need more than 25,000 credits a month or more than 20 connected inboxes.
- Skip it if:
- Scale covers your volume. Scale already includes an account manager and the same 300 AI searches a month.
Data Platform: developers with irregular API volume
- Best for:
- product teams pulling Hunter data into their own systems on an uneven schedule.
- Skip it if:
- your monthly usage is steady and under 2,000 credits, since Starter’s 2,000 credits at $49 a month billed monthly cost less than the $50.00 the Data Platform charges for 1,000 search credits.
The plan I would avoid is Starter on monthly billing for a year-long program. Twelve months at $49 x 12 = $588 is $180 more than the $408 yearly price for the same credits.
Hunter.io Pricing vs Alternatives
Close alternatives differ more in what a credit means and who shares it than in entry price.
| Tool | Entry paid plan | Billed monthly (per month) | Billed yearly (per month) | Credits on that plan | Who shares it |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hunter.io | Starter | $49 | $34 | 2,000 per month | Unlimited team members |
| Snov.io | Starter | $39.00 | Annual saves $117 a year | 1,000 credits | Unlimited team seats |
| Voila Norbert | Valet | $49 | $39 | Up to 1,000 leads per month | Unlimited team members |
| UpLead | Essentials | $99 | $74 | 170 per month; 2,040 on annual | Single user account |
| Apollo.io | Basic | Higher than annual, per Apollo’s FAQ | $49 per seat | 30,000 per seat per year | Priced per seat |
Sources: Snov.io pricing, Voila Norbert pricing, UpLead pricing, Apollo.io pricing and the Hunter pricing page, checked October 2026.
For a 10-person team, seat pricing changes the picture. Hunter Starter stays at $408 a year billed yearly. Voila Norbert Valet costs $39 x 12 months = $468 a year on yearly billing. Apollo.io Basic costs $49 x 10 seats x 12 months = $5,880 a year. Snov.io Starter is $39.00 a month on monthly billing, and Snov.io says annual billing saves $117 a year on it.

The credit definitions matter as much as the price:
- UpLead: one credit equals one contact, with email and mobile direct dial. Free, Essentials and Plus are single-user accounts, and the free trial gives 5 credits for 7 days.
- Voila Norbert: its FAQ says it counts only successful email finds, and every plan lists credit rollover. New accounts get 50 free credits.
- Snov.io: Starter includes 5,000 recipients and unlimited team seats, and annual billing saves $117 a year on Starter.
- Apollo.io: depending on the plan, credits cover emails, phone numbers, email warmup, domains and mailboxes. Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle, and its free plan has 900 credits per seat per year, granted monthly.
Choose Hunter if a team shares one email-finding budget and wants Bulk Domain Search and half-credit verification. Choose Snov.io if you want a lower entry price with seats included. Choose Voila Norbert if you need unused credits to roll over. Choose UpLead if one rep needs mobile direct dials with each contact. Choose Apollo.io if you want data, sequencing and calling on one per-seat platform and can absorb $5,880 a year for 10 seats.
Is Hunter.io Worth It?
Hunter is worth paying for when email finding and verification are the core job and several people need access. No seat fees means a 10-person team pays $1,248 a year on Growth billed yearly, which is hard to match with per-seat tools.
It is a weaker fit if your reps need phone numbers with every contact, since Hunter defines credits around emails found and verified. It is also a poor fit for teams with lumpy usage on monthly billing, because unused monthly credits do not roll over. If you would rather keep prospecting inside your CRM, our list of the best AI CRM software covers tools that bundle it.
My pick for most small teams is Growth billed yearly. Solo users should start on Free, confirm the data on 50 known contacts, then move to Starter billed yearly once they know they will stay nine months or more.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Hunter.io have a free plan?
Yes. Hunter’s Free plan costs $0 and includes 50 credits per month, basic Discover filters, 10 AI Assistant searches a month, 1 connected email account and 500 recipients per sequence. Unlimited team members can join, but they share the same 50 credits. That covers 50 found emails or 100 verifications a month, enough to test the data but not to build a full prospect list.
How much does Hunter.io cost per month?
On monthly billing, Starter costs $49, Growth $149 and Scale $299 a month. On yearly billing, the same plans cost $34, $104 and $209 a month, invoiced as $408, $1,248 and $2,508 a year. Enterprise pricing is custom. Every published plan includes unlimited team members, so the price does not change with the number of users on the account.
Do unused Hunter credits roll over?
No, not on monthly billing. Hunter’s pricing page says credits reset monthly and do not roll over. Yearly billing works differently: all credits for the year are available upfront, so a Starter account gets 24,000 credits at once. Data Platform credits, bought separately for API use, can be used up to 12 months from purchase.
Does Hunter charge per user?
No. Hunter says you can invite as many team members as you like at no extra cost. Everyone shares the credit pool included in the plan, so adding users spreads the same credits thinner. On Growth, 10 users splitting 10,000 monthly credits evenly get 1,000 each. Connected email accounts are capped per plan, with extra accounts from $10 a month each.
How many credits does an email verification use?
One verification costs 0.5 credit with the Email Verifier or Bulk Email Verifier. If Hunter cannot verify an address, the status is Unknown and no credit is counted. Disposable addresses are skipped without a charge. Finding an email costs 1 credit, while Bulk Domain Search finds up to 10 emails for 1 credit, which makes it the cheapest way to pull contacts from one company.
Can I cancel Hunter at any time?
Yes. Hunter’s FAQ says you can change or cancel your plan at any time in your dashboard, and you keep premium access until the end of the subscription cycle. It also says you can subscribe for a single month and cancel when the work is done, which suits a one-off list-building or verification project on monthly billing.
Does Hunter offer discounts?
Yes, two. Yearly billing lowers Starter from $49 to $34 a month, Growth from $149 to $104 and Scale from $299 to $209. Registered non-profits with 501(c) status in the US can get a 30% discount on monthly plans by emailing Hunter proof of status after signing up. The non-profit discount cannot be combined with other promotions.
