Freshsales is the better buy for a US sales team of 5 to 25 reps that needs pipeline, sequences and forecasting. Its Pro and Enterprise plans cost $39 and $59 per user per month, billed annually. Salesforce puts forecasting in Pro Suite at $100 per user per month, billed annually with a contract.
At list price, ten reps pay $59 x 10 x 12 = $7,080 a year on Freshsales Enterprise and $100 x 10 x 12 = $12,000 on Salesforce Pro Suite. Salesforce Sales Cloud earns that premium when the CRM must become a customizable platform with apps, partners and an admin.

Quick verdict
Freshsales prices sales sequences at $39 and forecasting at $59 per user per month, and every paid plan can be billed monthly. Salesforce’s first paid suite costs $25, but forecasting waits for Pro Suite at $100, billed annually with a contract required.
Pro Suite adds greater customization and AgentExchange access. Core ($195) adds Slack Business+ and Tableau Next, Advanced ($395) adds security tooling, and Max ($550) moves to Slack Enterprise+.
Pick Freshsales for a cost-conscious team of 5 to 25 reps that wants sequences and forecasting, with monthly billing available on every paid plan. Pick Salesforce when you need custom apps and objects, AgentExchange partners, or Slack and Tableau bundled in Core.
Freshsales’ ceiling is its Enterprise plan at $59 per user per month, billed annually; Salesforce’s price is an annual contract from Pro Suite up.
Choose Freshsales if
- Sequences at $39 and forecasting at $59 per user per month cover your sales process
- You want to pay month to month: $11, $47 or $71 per user
Choose Salesforce if
- You want email nurture campaigns and lead scoring in a $25 entry suite
- You want Slack Business+, Tableau Next and Premier Success bundled in Core at $195

The Sales Cloud pricing page read in October 2026 lists Core, Advanced and Max above Pro Suite, and no Enterprise edition, so price any older Salesforce quote against these names.
Key Differences Between Freshsales and Salesforce
Four differences decide this choice: scope, billing, ceiling and how AI is sold.
- Scope: Freshsales is Freshworks’ sales CRM with four plans; Salesforce sells suites that bundle sales, service, marketing and commerce from Starter Suite up.
- Billing: every Freshsales paid plan bills monthly or annually; Salesforce bills Pro Suite and the editions above it annually, and Pro Suite requires a contract.
- Ceiling: Freshsales ends at Enterprise ($59 billed annually); Salesforce adds Core ($195), Advanced ($395) and Max ($550) with Slack, Tableau Next and security tooling.
- AI packaging: Freshsales Pro lists contact scoring and deal insights, and Enterprise lists forecasting insights. Salesforce sells Agentforce for Sales from $125 per user per month, and AI can be added to Core and above.
Scope explains most of the price gap. Salesforce describes Starter Suite as a CRM suite with “even more sales, service, marketing” plus commerce, so a team that only sells pays for modules it may not open. My Freshsales review judges how far the narrower, sales-only tool goes on its own.
Billing and ceiling pull in opposite directions. Freshsales bills Pro at $47 per user per month when paid monthly, against $39 billed annually, while Salesforce bills Pro Suite annually with a contract required.
At the top, Freshsales stops at Enterprise with custom modules and a sandbox, while Salesforce adds Core, Advanced and Max above Pro Suite. My Salesforce CRM review weighs where Sales Cloud’s upper editions pay back.
Freshsales vs Salesforce Pricing
Freshsales Growth at $9 faces Salesforce Starter Suite at $25 per user per month, and Freshsales Enterprise at $59 faces Pro Suite at $100, all billed annually. On the forecasting pair, Salesforce charges $100 – $59 = $41 more per seat per month, plus a contract.

Comparable plans side by side
Growth pairs with Starter Suite as the first paid pipeline plan, Freshsales Enterprise pairs with Pro Suite for forecasting, and Core, Advanced and Max have no Freshsales counterpart.
| Plan tier | Freshsales | Salesforce |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Free: $0 for up to 3 users | Free Suite: $0, comes with 2 user licenses |
| Entry paid | Growth: $9 billed annually, $11 billed monthly | Starter Suite: $25, billed monthly or annually |
| Sequences | Pro: $39 billed annually, $47 billed monthly | Not listed on the Starter or Pro Suite cards |
| Forecasting | Enterprise: $59 billed annually, $71 billed monthly | Pro Suite: $100, billed annually, contract required |
| Upper editions | Not listed on the pricing page | Core $195, Advanced $395, Max $550, billed annually |

Each ladder has one step that forces the upgrade. On Freshsales, Growth to Pro buys sales sequences, territory management and contact scoring, and Pro to Enterprise buys forecasting insights, sandbox and field-level permissions.
On Salesforce, Starter Suite to Pro Suite buys quoting, forecasting and greater customization. Pro Suite to Core buys Slack Business+, Tableau Next, Premier Success and the right to add Agentforce. Every Freshsales plan and add-on is in my full Freshsales pricing breakdown.
Year-one totals for small, mid-size and large teams
Year-one cost is the seat price times your reps times 12 months, and the gap between the two products grows with every seat because both vendors price per user.
| Team (5, 10 or 25 seats) and job | Freshsales year-one cost (price x seats x 12 months) | Salesforce year-one cost (price x seats x 12 months) |
|---|---|---|
| 5 reps, entry pipeline | Growth: $9 x 5 x 12 = $540 | Starter Suite: $25 x 5 x 12 = $1,500 |
| 5 reps, sequences | Pro: $39 x 5 x 12 = $2,340 | Not listed on the suite cards |
| 5 reps, forecasting | Enterprise: $59 x 5 x 12 = $3,540 | Pro Suite: $100 x 5 x 12 = $6,000 |
| 10 reps, entry pipeline | Growth: $9 x 10 x 12 = $1,080 | Starter Suite: $25 x 10 x 12 = $3,000 |
| 10 reps, forecasting | Enterprise: $59 x 10 x 12 = $7,080 | Pro Suite: $100 x 10 x 12 = $12,000 |
| 10 reps, platform edition | Not listed on the pricing page | Core: $195 x 10 x 12 = $23,400 |
| 25 reps, forecasting | Enterprise: $59 x 25 x 12 = $17,700 | Pro Suite: $100 x 25 x 12 = $30,000 |
| 25 reps, platform edition | Not listed on the pricing page | Core: $195 x 25 x 12 = $58,500 |

Assumptions: US list prices, annual billing, before tax, no add-ons, no transaction fees, no partner or onboarding fees, no negotiated discounts.
Monthly billing changes less than you might expect. Ten Freshsales Enterprise seats billed monthly cost $71 x 10 x 12 = $8,520, still below a year of Pro Suite at $100 x 10 x 12 = $12,000.
The cheapest pairing is not the like-for-like one. Starter Suite at $25 x 10 x 12 = $3,000 undercuts Freshsales Pro at $39 x 10 x 12 = $4,680, but Starter’s card lists no sequences or forecasting. Price the plan that holds the feature your reps will use.
Costs beyond the seat price
Salesforce adds three cost lines before AI: the Pro Suite contract, transaction fees on Starter Suite and Pro Suite, and Premier Success below Core. Salesforce’s Success Plans page prices Premier Success at 30% of net license fees; Core includes it.
AI moves the Salesforce bill further. Agentforce for Sales starts at $125 per user per month and can be added to Core and above, so a rep with it costs at least $195 + $125 = $320 per month, with Core billed annually. My Salesforce pricing guide covers every edition and add-on.
Freshsales has two add-ons. Branded documents cost $19 per user per month, so an Enterprise seat with them is $59 + $19 = $78. Freddy AI Agent costs $49 per 100 bot sessions; paid plans get 500 sessions once per account, and bought sessions expire with your payment cycle.
Pricing note
Salesforce’s small business pricing page says “Transaction fees apply” to Starter Suite and Pro Suite but gives no rate. Ask for the fee schedule in writing before you sign.
Implementation is the last line. Salesforce points buyers to consultants or partners on AgentExchange for implementation, and to MuleSoft or integration partners for on-premises systems. Neither vendor publishes a partner price.
When the cheaper CRM is not the better value
Salesforce is the better value when your team needs what Freshsales’ ladder does not reach.
Starter Suite’s email nurture campaigns and lead scoring at $25 beat Growth’s email templates for a team that markets and sells in one tool. Pro Suite’s greater customization and automation with AgentExchange access, and Advanced’s Backup & Recover and Security Center at $395, serve orgs that build custom processes on the CRM.
If none of these is on your list, the extra spend buys capacity your team will not use.
Freshsales vs Salesforce: Features Compared
Freshsales covers pipeline, sequences, forecasting and admin controls by its $59 Enterprise plan. Salesforce goes deeper on customization, a partner marketplace and security tooling, spread across Pro Suite and the editions above it.
| Feature | Freshsales | Salesforce |
|---|---|---|
| Workflow automation | Growth: basic workflows | Starter Suite: sales flows and lead routing |
| Sales sequences | Pro | Not listed on the suite cards |
| Lead or contact scoring | Pro: contact scoring | Starter Suite: lead scoring |
| Forecasting | Enterprise: forecasting insights | Pro Suite: sales quoting and forecasting |
| Quotes and documents | Add-on: branded documents, $19/ | Pro Suite: sales quoting |
| Customization | Enterprise: custom modules, sandbox | Pro Suite: greater customization, AgentExchange access |
| Security controls | Enterprise: field-level permissions, audit logs | Advanced: Backup & Recover, Data Detect, Security Center |
| AI agent add-on | Add-on: Freddy AI Agent, $49 per 100 sessions | Add-on: Agentforce for Sales from $125/ |
| Slack | Not listed on the pricing page | Slack Free to Pro Suite; Business+ on Core and Advanced; Enterprise+ on Max |

Pipeline and sales automation
Both products start pipeline work on their entry plans, but sequences separate them. Freshsales Growth gives a Kanban view, contact lifecycle stages and basic workflows at $9; Salesforce Starter Suite gives built-in sales flows and lead routing at $25.
Sales sequences arrive on Freshsales Pro at $39, with territory management. Neither Salesforce suite card names sequences, and Salesforce markets Sales Engagement without a price, so a team that runs multi-step outreach should ask which edition includes it.
Verdict: pipeline and sales automation
Freshsales fits better for a 5-25 rep team that wants sequences on a budget: Pro lists them at $39. Salesforce’s pricing pages tie no sequence feature to a plan, so treat sequences there as unpriced until a quote says otherwise.
Forecasting and reporting
Forecasting starts at Freshsales Enterprise for $59 per user per month and at Salesforce Pro Suite for $100, both billed annually. Pro Suite pairs sales quoting with forecasting, which matters if your reps send quotes from the CRM.
Neither pricing page shows how deep each forecast goes (quota rollups, categories, adjustments). Run your last quarter through both trials before you pay for either tier.
Verdict: forecasting
Depends on plan: Freshsales Enterprise costs $59 per seat billed annually, or $71 billed monthly, against Pro Suite’s $100 billed annually, while Pro Suite bundles sales quoting with forecasting. A team that quotes from the CRM should compare Pro Suite’s quoting with Enterprise plus the $19 branded documents add-on.
Customization, permissions and security
Salesforce grows further with a complex sales org. Freshsales Enterprise adds custom modules, a sandbox, field-level permissions and audit logs at $59 billed annually, enough for a growing team with one admin.
Salesforce Pro Suite adds greater customization and automation, and Advanced adds Backup & Recover, Archive, Data Detect and Security Center. Freshworks states AES 256-bit encryption at rest and TLS 1.2 for data in transit.
Verdict: customization and security
Salesforce fits better for orgs that need custom apps, objects and dedicated backup tooling. Freshsales Enterprise is enough for a growing team with one admin that needs custom modules and field-level permissions.
AI: Freddy AI vs Agentforce
The two vendors sell different AI. On Freshsales, the insight features ride on the plan: contact scoring and deal insights on Pro, forecasting insights on Enterprise. Its Freddy AI Agent add-on, $49 per 100 sessions, runs customer-facing bots; agent-facing AI features do not consume sessions.
Salesforce Starter Suite syncs emails, events and contacts with AI. Agentforce for Sales, the per-user employee agent, needs Core or above, and Max at $550 includes it with 2.75M Flex Credits per org per year.
Verdict: AI
Depends on use: a team that wants scoring and deal insights inside the CRM gets them in Freshsales Pro at $39. A team that wants AI agents working records for each rep needs Salesforce Core plus Agentforce, or Max.
Integrations and ecosystem
Freshsales’ Free plan connects Gmail, Google Calendar and Contacts, Outlook Mail and Contacts, Zoom and Teams, and the Freshworks Marketplace lists further apps. Salesforce puts CRM data right in Slack, so the deciding question is which side your reps work from.
Salesforce Starter Suite includes a free Slack workspace connected to the CRM, and Pro Suite opens AgentExchange (formerly AppExchange). I compare named connections rather than app counts, because a count says nothing about the five tools your reps use.
Getting Started: Setup and Ease of Use
The pricing pages list no setup time for the paid plans compared here, so the trial is the test: Freshsales gives 21 days of the full CRM, Salesforce 30 days of Sales Cloud with no credit card. Your own trial settles “easier” better than any general verdict.
Salesforce calls Free Suite turnkey and ships a guided checklist, yet it points Sales Cloud buyers to consultants and partners for implementation. Freshsales’ trial needs no credit card; when it ends, you pay by card or the account is suspended.
Use either trial for four weekly tasks:
- Build your real pipeline stages and move a few live deals through them
- Import a sample of your contacts and check how owners and duplicates map
- Set one workflow, such as assigning new leads to a rep
- Run the report your sales lead reads every Monday

Skip Freshsales if: your org plans custom apps and objects, needs dedicated backup and security tooling, or wants Slack and Tableau inside the CRM bill.
Skip Salesforce if: your team of 5 to 25 reps needs sequences and forecasting and nothing more; Freshsales Enterprise covers both at $59 per user per month billed annually, or $71 billed monthly, against Pro Suite’s $100 billed annually with a contract required.
Switching Between Freshsales and Salesforce
Records move by file import in both directions; workflows, sequences, reports and custom fields are rebuilt by hand.
Moving from Salesforce to Freshsales:
- Freshsales imports CSV or XLSX files of up to 5 MB, covering contacts, accounts, deals, products, custom modules and sales goals
- Map the record owner by the rep’s email address; Freshsales does not map an owner from a name
- Time the move to your Salesforce renewal, since most Salesforce products use annual contracts
Moving from Freshsales to Salesforce:
- Salesforce’s Data Import Wizard takes CSV files of up to 50,000 records at a time, for accounts, contacts, leads and custom objects
- Data Loader handles 50,000 to 150 million records for larger histories
- Rebuild sequences, workflows and reports as Salesforce flows and dashboards, and test them before going live
How I Compared Freshsales and Salesforce
I compared both products from their official US pricing, plan and help pages, read on October 21, 2026, with every price in USD. Salesforce’s Sales Cloud pricing page was read live on that date, and its Starter Suite and Pro Suite prices match Salesforce’s small business pricing page.
I paired plans by the job they do (entry pipeline, sequences, forecasting), not by the cheapest seat. Each yearly total multiplies a plan’s monthly seat rate by the seats and by a full year.
What the pricing page does not list: Salesforce gives no transaction fee rate, so that is a question for your sales call.
FAQ
Is Freshsales a good CRM?
Yes, for a sales team that needs pipeline, sequences and forecasting at a low seat price. Pro at $39 and Enterprise at $59 per user per month, billed annually, cover those jobs. It is weaker for orgs that want a customizable platform, because the pricing page lists no plan above Enterprise.
Does Freshsales or Salesforce have a free plan?
Both do. Freshsales Free costs $0 for up to 3 users.
Salesforce Free Suite comes with 2 user licenses, no contract and simple email marketing of up to 100 emails a month. It stays free if you log in at least once every 60 days.
Why do teams leave Salesforce for Freshsales?
The pricing pages show the two pressures a small team feels. Forecasting on Salesforce starts at Pro Suite’s $100 per user per month on an annual contract, and Agentforce needs Core at $195 plus a $125 add-on. Freshsales covers forecasting at $59 billed annually, or $71 billed monthly.
The other reasons teams move off Sales Cloud are in my guide to Salesforce CRM alternatives.
Does Salesforce charge for support?
Standard Success is included in all Salesforce licenses and covers knowledge articles, documentation and Trailhead. The Success Plans page prices Premier Success at 30% of net license fees, with a response within 1 hour for business-impacting issues. Core includes it, so a Core buyer avoids that line.
Final Verdict: Freshsales or Salesforce?
Buy Freshsales if your team of 5 to 25 reps needs sequences and forecasting: Enterprise is $59 per user per month billed annually, $71 billed monthly. Buy Salesforce if you are building a customizable CRM platform and have the budget for an annual contract and implementation partners.
Choose Freshsales if
- You need sales sequences on a mid-tier budget: Pro is $39 billed annually
- You need forecasting and a sandbox: Enterprise is $59 billed annually
- One admin will run the CRM, with field-level permissions and audit logs on Enterprise
Choose Salesforce if
- You need greater customization and automation with AgentExchange access from Pro Suite up
- You plan per-rep AI agents: Agentforce for Sales adds to Core and above
- Your team will grow past one sales CRM into service and commerce
The trade-off holds at every team size. Freshsales saves $100 – $59 = $41 per seat per month on the forecasting pair but stops at Enterprise; Salesforce keeps growing at a higher price and a yearly commitment.
