Zoho Invoice costs $0, with no subscription: its one plan covers up to two users and 500 invoices a year (checked October 2026). Zoho’s named upgrade, Zoho Billing, starts at $25 per organization per month, billed annually.

For a freelancer or a two-person business, Zoho Invoice pricing comes down to the caps, not the price.

Free: what $0 includes

The $0 plan also covers a self-service customer portal, automated payment reminders, reports and 24/5 free email and voice support. No feature sits behind a paid Zoho Invoice tier, because none exists, so the decision rests on the caps.

Free plan limits that decide the upgrade

Which cap binds first depends on how you work:

  • A studio of three people hits the 2-user cap on day one.
  • A consultant who tracks each client as a project hits the 3-project cap first. Ten invoices a month is 10 x 12 = 120 a year, under a quarter of the 500 allowed.

The branding is the limit clients see. Zoho Invoice includes “Powered by Zoho Invoice” branding, and with no paid tier, no Zoho Invoice plan removes it.

Is Zoho Invoice Actually Free?

Yes, with conditions: Zoho Invoice is a free plan, not a trial, and Zoho charges no fee on the payments you receive. The strings are the branding, the yearly caps and one data rule that a seasonal business can trip over.

Pricing note

If you are inactive for more than 180 days, Zoho deletes the account’s data within the next 20 days, after sending a notice. Logging back in or backing up your data keeps it.

A contractor who invoices only in summer should log in before those 180 days pass.

If you need only one invoice, my free invoice template may be enough.

Additional Zoho Invoice Costs to Consider

The one cost a free-plan user can meet is the payment gateway’s processing fee: Zoho Invoice charges nothing on payments received, but the gateway may. The other costs start only after a move to Zoho Billing.

Zoho Invoice integrates with Zoho CRM, but the CRM is a separate product with its own Zoho CRM pricing.

When Does Zoho Invoice Stop Being Free?

Zoho Invoice stops being enough at the first of five triggers:

  • a third user;
  • the 501st invoice in an organization’s year;
  • a fourth project;
  • a third organization in the same account;
  • a need for subscription billing, which sits in Zoho Billing Premium.

For more invoices, Zoho’s help center names the step: upgrade to Zoho Billing. Standard raises the user cap to 3 and the invoice cap to 100,000 a year. Its pricing page shows no project, organization or branding terms, so confirm those in the 14-day trial.

The invoice year is the trap. Zoho resets usage limits annually on the organization’s creation date, so a business created in March gets its fresh allowance in March, not January. Settings > Usage Stats shows how many invoices remain.

Zoho Billing Pricing: The Paid Upgrade Path

Zoho Billing Standard costs $29 per organization per month, billed monthly; billed annually, it is $25 per organization per month. Premium costs $69 per organization per month billed monthly; billed annually, it is $59. Enterprise Edition has no published price.

Both paid plans come with a 14-day free trial, and their prices exclude local taxes. They share one ceiling: up to 100,000 invoices per year with a total billed amount of no more than $1M.

Standard suits a team of up to three that bills one-time work. Premium adds subscription billing, hosted payment pages and dunning management for recurring customers.

Zoho Billing has no binding contracts; you can cancel at any time with a full refund according to Zoho’s refund policy.

Monthly vs annual billing on Zoho Billing

On Standard, $29 x 12 = $348 against $25 x 12 = $300, so the saving is $348 – $300 = $48. On Premium, $69 x 12 = $828 against $59 x 12 = $708, a saving of $828 – $708 = $120.

I would pay monthly for the first months after leaving the free plan, until you know Standard fits.

How Much Does Zoho Invoice Cost for Your Team?

A team of one or two pays $0 under the caps. A year of Zoho Billing Standard is $25 x 12 = $300 billed annually; paid monthly, it is $29 x 12 = $348. Premium is $59 x 12 = $708 or $69 x 12 = $828.

Which Zoho Invoice Plan Should You Choose?

Stay on Zoho Invoice Free while you are one or two users under 500 invoices a year. Move to Zoho Billing Standard at the third user or the 501st invoice, and to Premium only for subscription billing or a team of 4 to 10.

Skip it if:
you start with three or more people. The 2-user cap means paying for Zoho Billing from day one, so compare it with other paid tools.

Is Zoho Invoice Worth It?

Yes, for a freelancer or two-person team that accepts Zoho’s branding: $0 buys quotes, recurring invoices, online payments and reminders.

It stops being worth it when a third user or the 500-invoice cap blocks work, and Standard lifts both. For branding, the 3-project cap or full accounting, Zoho Billing’s pricing page shows no fix, so my guide to the best invoicing software for small businesses sorts other options by job.

How I Verified Zoho Invoice Pricing

I read Zoho’s official US pages, in USD, on October 28, 2026: Zoho Invoice’s pricing, free invoice limit and online payments pages, and Zoho Billing’s US page in Monthly and Yearly views.

The totals are my calculations: list price x 12 months, one organization, before taxes, add-ons and gateway fees. Zoho does not publish a customer limit for Zoho Invoice, a price for Enterprise Edition, or which Zoho Billing plans can buy the user add-on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Zoho Invoice secure for client payments?

Yes: Zoho Invoice lists PCI-DSS compliance with 256-bit SSL encryption, two-factor authentication and regular intrusion and virus detection scanning as its security standards. When you connect a gateway, your merchant account details are shared with it, and Zoho Invoice stores only the last four digits of a customer’s card.

Does the Zoho Invoice mobile app cost extra?

No separate price is listed: the iOS and Android downloads sit beside the free sign-up, and Zoho Invoice’s only plan is Free at $0.

Can I use Zoho Invoice for two businesses?

Yes: one Zoho Invoice account can manage up to two organizations. Zoho resets usage limits on each organization’s creation date, so two businesses set up in different months reset their invoice counts at different times.

Final Pricing Verdict

Start on Zoho Invoice Free if you run a solo or two-person business: it costs $0, and the only money that leaves is your gateway’s processing fee.

Watch two signals: the remaining count in Settings > Usage Stats, and the day you add a third user. Either one is the point to move to Zoho Billing Standard, monthly at first. If accounting, not invoice volume, is the gap, compare other invoicing tools before you pay.
