Wix pricing runs from $17 to $159 per site per month on the four paid plans, billed yearly and paid upfront, and the Free plan costs $0. Core, at $29 per month billed yearly, is the cheapest plan that accepts payments.
The plan price is only part of the budget. The free domain lasts one year, Light cannot take a payment, and the Pricing Plans transaction fee falls from 4% to 0% as you move up. This guide prices all of it for a US small business, in US dollars.
Quick pricing answer
Wix has a Free plan at $0 and four paid site plans: Light $17, Core $29, Business $39 and Business Elite $159 per month, billed yearly and paid in full. New paid plans carry a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Core is the plan for a small business that sells: it is the first plan that accepts payments, and it adds basic eCommerce and scheduling.
The caveat: the free domain covers year one only and comes with yearly or multi-year plans, not monthly ones. After that, a .com renews at $13.35 a year, per Wix’s blog. Prices checked October 2026, in USD, before tax.

Prices are in US dollars from the US version of the plans page, the Internet Archive’s copy of October 23, 2026, which matches the live page read on October 28, 2026. Wix states that the prices are for yearly subscriptions paid in full and exclude applicable taxes, which depend on your billing address.
Treat each price as a 12-month bill paid on day one. A Core site is a $29 x 12 = $348 charge at checkout, so the monthly figure compares plans; it is not a way to pay.

The table shows what each plan costs; what each step up buys decides whether the extra dollars are worth it.
Wix Pricing Plans Explained
Each Wix plan adds one gate that matters. Light adds a custom domain but cannot sell, and Core is the first plan that accepts payments. Business adds automated sales tax and halves the Pricing Plans fee; Business Elite removes the storage cap and the fee.
Wix’s terms say AI credits reset monthly however the plan is billed, and unused credits do not carry over.
Free
Free fits anyone testing Wix or running a hobby site that can live with Wix ads and a wixsite.com address. It needs no credit card and includes Wix’s AI creation tools. The upgrade trigger is the address: the day a business wants its own domain on an invoice, Free stops being an option.
Light
Light, at $17 per month billed yearly, suits a brochure or portfolio site on its own domain and fails any site that must take payments. The comparison table marks payments, pay links, invoices and customer accounts as not included in Light.
Light adds a free domain for the first year, 2 GB of storage, 2 site collaborators, 4 lead-capture forms and a monthly AI-credit allowance on Wix’s plan comparison table. That fits a consultant or a local office whose site exists to collect inquiries.
Skip Light if you expect to sell within the year. Core costs $29 – $17 = $12 more per month and is the first plan that can check out a customer.
Core
Core, at $29 per month billed yearly, adds payments, basic eCommerce, scheduling and services, 5 site collaborators, 50 GB of storage, a 50,000-product catalog and a monthly AI-credit allowance.
The trade-offs show up as sales grow. Core charges a 4% Pricing Plans transaction fee, has no automated sales tax, caps dropshipping by Modalyst at 25 products and limits back-in-stock notifications to 10 a month.
Those caps leave room for a service business taking bookings or a small shop that files its own sales tax. A business selling recurring plans through Pricing Plans should watch the 4% fee first.
For how the editor works, read my Wix review.
Business
Business, at $39 per month billed yearly, earns the extra $39 – $29 = $10 a month over Core when you need automated sales tax, more than 5 collaborators, or enough Pricing Plans sales to cover the gap.
The fee math is short. Business cuts the Pricing Plans fee from 4% to 2%, so on yearly billing the saving covers the $10 gap once Pricing Plans sales reach $10 / 0.02 = $500 a month. Below that, Core costs less in total.
Business runs automated sales tax for up to 100 transactions a month, allows 10 site collaborators and 100 GB of storage, raises dropshipping to 250 products and adds loyalty tiers, a referral program and a monthly AI-credit allowance.
The trigger out of Business is the 101st taxed transaction in a month, an 11th collaborator, or more than 100 GB of files.
Business Elite
Business Elite, at $159 per month billed yearly, is for a site with more than 10 collaborators, more than 100 GB of files, more than 100 taxed transactions a month, or very high Pricing Plans sales. It allows 100 site collaborators, unlimited storage, 500 automated sales tax transactions a month, 50,000 dropshipped products and a monthly AI-credit allowance.
The fee math sets a high bar. Elite costs $159 – $39 = $120 a month more than Business, billed yearly, and its 0% fee saves 2 points, so it breaks even at $120 / 0.02 = $6,000 of Pricing Plans sales a month.
Elite also adds the advanced developer platform and priority customer care. A team inside Business’s collaborator, storage and sales-tax caps has to sell a lot through Pricing Plans before Elite makes sense.
Enterprise
Enterprise has no published price: the plans page offers a “Book a Demo” button for enterprises instead. Wix’s help center describes it as the Wix Studio enterprise solution with a multi-site dashboard, outside this guide’s single-site plans.
Does Wix Have a Free Plan or Trial?
Yes, Wix has a Free plan with Wix ads, a wixsite.com address, up to 500MB of storage and up to 500MB of bandwidth. To try a paid plan, use the 14-day money-back guarantee the plans page prints: cancel a new plan within 14 days and Wix refunds it in full.
Wix’s terms of use say it may offer a free trial for certain plans at its discretion, with the terms given at sign-up. The refund covers new plans only, not a renewal or the upgrade of an existing plan, so start on the plan you expect to keep rather than upgrading into it after the 14 days.
A cancelled paid plan does not delete the site. It returns to the free version, the ads come back, and the address reverts to the wixsite.com URL. Every paid plan removes that address.
Monthly vs Annual Wix Pricing
Yearly billing is the price Wix prints, paid in full upfront, and only yearly or multi-year plans include the free domain. Wix does not print monthly-billing prices on its plans page; the monthly rate appears on the purchase page.
| Billing cycle | How you pay | Free domain for 1 year | Renewal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | Charged every month | Not included | Charged on the expiry date, with no email notice |
| Yearly | Charged once for the year | Included with selected plans | Charged up to 3 weeks before expiry; emails start 30 days ahead |
| 2 or 3 years | Charged once every 2 or 3 years | Included with selected plans | Charged up to 3 weeks before expiry; not available in all regions |

With no monthly price printed, no saving can be computed, but the free domain tilts the first term toward yearly. Monthly plans include no free domain and no premium apps, so a monthly buyer pays for a custom domain separately until switching to yearly.
Monthly billing gives flexibility without a long-term commitment. Wix adds the free domain when you change a plan from monthly to yearly, but it covers a new domain bought from Wix, so a monthly buyer who already paid for the site’s domain gains nothing from the switch. If you want the site’s own domain free, buy yearly from the start.
What Changes After Year One: Domain and Renewal Costs
The live plans page notes that its displayed offer is only valid for the initial term of yearly and multi-year subscriptions, and a plan bought during a sale renews at the standard rate. Wix does not publish a separate renewal price for its site plans, so the year-two plan line below is the printed price.
In year two, the domain stops being free: a .com renews at $13.35 a year and a .org at $14.95 a year, per Wix’s blog.
The free domain comes with the first purchase of selected yearly or multi-year plans and with a switch from monthly to yearly billing, but not with a renewal or the upgrade of an existing plan.
Claim it within two months of buying the plan; it covers a new domain bought from Wix, not the renewal of a domain you already hold.
The free domain also leaves out domain privacy, and the help center prints no price for privacy protection. Renewal prices vary with the extension, your local currency, the number of years, privacy protection and local tax, and your exact figure sits under Premium Subscriptions in your Wix account.
| Plan | Year one: plan, domain free | Year two: plan at the printed price plus .com renewal |
|---|---|---|
| Light | $17 x 12 = $204 | $17 x 12 + $13.35 = $217.35 |
| Core | $29 x 12 = $348 | $29 x 12 + $13.35 = $361.35 |
| Business | $39 x 12 = $468 | $39 x 12 + $13.35 = $481.35 |
| Business Elite | $159 x 12 = $1,908 | $159 x 12 + $13.35 = $1,921.35 |

Both columns leave out tax, privacy protection and selling fees. If the standard rate is above the printed price, year two costs more than the table shows. The .com renewal costs less than one month of Light, so the domain is not the cost to fear; the plan’s renewal rate is.
Which Wix Plans Can Sell Online?
Core, Business and Business Elite accept payments; Light and Free do not. Wix’s own blog says Wix Payments charges 2.9% + $0.30 per US credit or debit card sale other than American Express, and the Pricing Plans transaction fee is 4% on Core, 2% on Business and 0% on Business Elite.
| Feature | Light | Core | Business | Business Elite |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Accept payments | Not included | Included | Included | Included |
| Pricing Plans transaction fee | Not included | 4% | 2% | 0% |
| Automated sales tax | Not included | Not included | 100 transactions per month | 500 transactions per month |
| Dropshipping by Modalyst | Not included | 25 products | 250 products | 50,000 products |
| Product catalog | Not included | 50,000 products | 50,000 products | 50,000 products |
| Back in stock notifications | Not included | 10 per month | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Sources: Wix plans page, Compare Plan Features table, and Wix’s blog on what a Wix website costs for the Wix Payments rates, checked October 2026.
Pricing Plans is one of the Wix apps that can take recurring payments, so its fee matters most to a business that sells plans rather than products. Wix’s blog lists American Express sales at 3.7% + $0.30 and PayPal sales at 3.49% + $0.49 with Wix Payments in the US, so a PayPal-heavy store pays more per order than the card rate.
Take an illustrative $20 Pricing Plans sale, a recurring plan paid by card. The card fee on that sale is $20 x 0.029 + $0.30 = $0.88, and a 4% Pricing Plans fee is $20 x 0.04 = $0.80. At a 2% Pricing Plans fee it is $20 x 0.02 = $0.40, and at a 0% Pricing Plans fee it is zero.
Wix lists the card rate and the Pricing Plans fee as separate fees, and the example adds them on the assumption that both apply to the same sale. Wix says its Wix Payments rates vary by location and payment method, so check the rate your own account shows.
Pricing note
The fee percentages, sales-tax caps and dropshipping caps come from the Compare Plan Features table on wix.com/plans, read on October 28, 2026. Wix prints them there, not on the plan cards, so open that table before you pick a selling plan.
Additional Wix Costs to Consider
Beyond the plan, a Wix bill can carry the domain after year one, privacy protection, business email, paid apps, payment fees, chargebacks, tax on the plan and any expert you hire.
| Cost type | When it applies | Pricing basis | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wix domain renewal | After the free first year | .com $13.35 per year, .org $14.95 per year | Varies by extension, currency, years, privacy and tax |
| Domain privacy protection | Full WHOIS privacy | Extra cost, no amount printed | The free domain does not include it |
| Business email | An address on your own domain | Separate Google Workspace plan | Needs your own domain first |
| Wix App Market apps | Per paid app | Free, or $3 to $20+ a month | Varies by app |
| Payment processing | Every sale through Wix Payments | 2.9% + $0.30 per US card sale | Amex 3.7% + $0.30; PayPal 3.49% + $0.49 |
| Chargebacks | A chargeback on a Wix charge | Fees and expenses Wix incurs for each one, no amount printed | Wix’s terms say a chargeback can also block the service |
| Sales tax on the plan | Every plan purchase | Set by your billing address | Plan prices exclude applicable taxes |
| Wix Expert | Custom design or build work | Varies with the scope of work | Listed under Hire a pro on the plans page |

For a site that never sells, the extras come down to the domain, tax and maybe email. For a store, payment fees grow with every order while the plan price stays fixed.
How Much Does Wix Cost for Your Business?
A US small business pays from $17 x 12 = $204 a year for a one-person site on Light to $159 x 12 = $1,908 a year on Business Elite, plan only, billed yearly, before tax and selling fees.

- List prices in USD from Wix’s official pricing pages, checked Oct 28, 2026. Tax and regional prices are not included.
- 12-month figures are 12 times the monthly cost at the billing you choose.
- A planning estimate at list prices, not a quote.
| Team size | Plan | Billing | Monthly equivalent | Annual total | Assumptions |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person: portfolio on its own domain | Light | Yearly | $17 | $17 x 12 = $204 | Flat price per site; 1 collaborator needed, 2 included, no selling |
| 3 people: small shop selling products | Core | Yearly | $29 | $29 x 12 = $348 | Flat price per site; 3 collaborators needed, 5 included, owner files sales tax |
| 8 people: store needing automated sales tax | Business | Yearly | $39 | $39 x 12 = $468 | Flat price per site; 8 collaborators needed, 10 included, up to 100 taxed transactions a month |
| Large team: unlimited storage | Business Elite | Yearly | $159 | $159 x 12 = $1,908 | Flat price per site; 11 or more collaborators needed, 100 included |

These are estimates from list prices, not quotes. Wix prices a site, not a person, so headcount matters only when it passes a collaborator cap: the 3-person shop fits Core, but a sixth collaborator moves it to Business.
Which Wix Plan Should You Choose?
Choose Free for testing, Light for a site that only needs its own domain, and Core for your first sale. Move to Business once automated sales tax or Pricing Plans volume matters, and to Business Elite when Business’s caps run out.
| Your needs | Plan to consider | Why | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Testing Wix or a hobby site | Free (no upgrade) | No cost, no credit card | Wix ads and a wixsite.com address |
| Own domain, no selling | Light | Custom domain with the first year free | Cannot accept payments |
| Sell products, services or bookings on a budget | Core | Cheapest plan that accepts payments | No automated sales tax; 4% Pricing Plans fee |
| Automated sales tax or steady Pricing Plans sales | Business | 100 taxed transactions a month; 2% fee | 10 site collaborators |
| More than 10 collaborators, unlimited storage or more than 100 taxed transactions a month | Business Elite | 100 collaborators, unlimited storage, 500 taxed transactions a month, 0% fee | Highest self-serve price |
| Several sites under one organization | Enterprise | Multi-site dashboard | No price published; Book a Demo |
Sources: Wix plans page and choosing a Premium plan, checked October 2026.
Skip the paid plans if: the site never needs its own domain or ad-free pages. Past 100 collaborators, no self-serve plan fits, so Enterprise’s Book a Demo button is the next step.
Is Wix Worth the Price?
Core is worth its $29 per month billed yearly once the site has to take payments. It costs $29 – $17 = $12 a month more than Light, and year two on Core is $29 x 12 + $13.35 = $361.35 with a .com renewal.
In my reading, that step up pays for itself once the site’s sales earn more than the monthly gap after fees and costs.
Light is poor value for anyone who will sell within the year, because the first sale forces a move to Core. Business Elite earns its price mainly once Pricing Plans sales pass the monthly break-even worked out in its plan section.
If you are still weighing builders, my guide to website builders for small businesses sets the alternatives side by side before you commit.
Billing, Discounts and Cancellation
New Wix plans carry a 14-day full refund, monthly or yearly. After 14 days, cancelling turns off auto-renewal and the plan runs to its expiry date; renewals and upgrades fall outside the refund policy, and domain purchases have no 14-day guarantee.
Timing matters at both ends. Turning off auto-renewal inside the first 14 days cancels the plan at once, and a refund can take up to 45 business days to reach your payment method.
Students can save 50% off yearly plans through Wix for Students, and the help center gives no end date for it. Any other discount at checkout applies to the first term only.

How I Verified Wix Pricing
I built this guide from Wix’s plans page, its Compare Plan Features table, Wix help-center pages on billing, the free domain, domain renewals and refunds, and Wix’s own blog for Wix Payments rates, all read in October 2026.
Pricing region: US. Currency: US dollars. Plan prices come from the US copy of the plans page dated October 23, 2026, matched against the live page on October 28, 2026.
The live plans page carries the note that the offer is valid only for the initial term of yearly and multi-year subscriptions; the archived copy dated October 23, 2026 does not. That note is why year two gets its own section.
Prices are quoted as Wix prints them. Totals are calculated as the yearly-billed price per month x 12, plus $13.35 for a .com in year two; the plan picks and break-even points are my reading of those figures.
Wix does not publish monthly-billing prices on its plans page, the standard rate after a sale, 2- and 3-year prices, the privacy protection fee or an Enterprise price.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the downside of Wix’s pricing?
Three cost downsides stand out. Monthly plans get no free domain, Light cannot accept payments at all, and anything bought during a sale renews at the standard rate. Each raises the real bill above the monthly figure on the plans page.
Can I change my Wix plan later?
Yes. Wix lets you change to a different plan or a different billing period, such as monthly Business to yearly Business. If you move to a cheaper plan, Wix credits you the difference, so starting on a larger plan than you need is recoverable.
Does one Wix plan cover several sites?
No. Wix site plans are valid for a single site only, so a business with a main site and a separate store buys one plan per site. A plan assigned to the wrong site can be reassigned to the correct one.
Final Pricing Verdict
For most US small businesses that will sell online, Core on yearly billing is the plan to buy: it is the cheapest plan that accepts payments. Choose Light only for a site that will never take a payment, and stay on Free only while you are testing. To compare another builder’s plans, see my Squarespace pricing guide.
Upgrade to Business when automated sales tax becomes a chore or Pricing Plans sales pass the Business break-even. Business Elite is for teams that outgrow Business’s 10 site collaborators.
Final recommendation
Buy Core on yearly billing if you will sell.
Budget year two as the plan at its printed price, if it renews at that price, plus $13.35 for a .com, before tax and Wix Payments fees, and check your renewal charge in your Wix account before the plan renews.
